What time does the service start?
Please click here to see our service times. Usually we start at 9:15am on a Sunday morning. Feel free to come early and make sure you hang around after and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
How long does the service last?
Our services usually last between 50 and 60 minutes. This involves music, prayer, teaching and often a service of holy communion.
What about my children?
Your children are more than welcome to join you in the service. We are a family church and your children are able to come along and join in. We hope they can come and feel happy to just be themselves. Running around, shouting, and playing are all welcome. Just ask if you have any concerns and we will be happy to help.
What denomination is St. Michael’s?
St. Michael’s is an Anglican church: part of the Church of England, the Diocese of Durham and Durham North Team of Churches. If you want to find out more about what it means to be an Anglican then click here.
Do I have to dress up? What do I wear?
Wear whatever you want. Some people dress up to come to church but you can come as you are.
Is there an offering/collection?
Each week we pass an offering plate to give an offering to God and to the church. However, this is mainly for our regular attendees. Please do not feel obliged to give anything. You are our guest and you don’t have to pay to come to church. If you decide you want to commit more to this church and its work, then come and chat to us about giving. If you consider St. Michael’s your home church, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving to our community.
